Unbeaten world champion Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga will make a triumphant entry into East London on Thursday afternoon.
Nontshinga, who annexed the International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight title after he outpointed Mexican foe Hector Flores at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Sorona, Mexico, on Sunday morning (South African time), returns home after having fulfilled one of his dreams as a boxer.
The 23-year-old Nontshinga became the first boxer to defeat the previously unbeaten Flores. Nontshinga has won all his 11 fights with nine of those ending in knockouts while Flores has 20 wins (10 stoppages), a loss and four draws.
Nontshinga together with his trainer Colin “Nomakanjani” Nathan are expected to land at the King Phalo Airport, East London, at 13h10.
Thereafter, a motorcade will leave King Phalo Airport for the City Hall where an official welcoming ceremony is going to be held.
