Sange Ngoza has fought and succeeded against a major challenge in his life and has now found an opportunity to get his boxing career back on track as he fights against Lindelani Sibisi this coming Saturday.
After losing his last two fights to South African featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi and Yamkela Phaliso, Ngoza takes on Sibisi in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental featherweight title contest at the Fordaville Hall in Estcourt.
“I’m going to KwaZulu-Natal to redeem myself after losing to Phaliso earlier this year. I’m going there to ensure that I make a statement and take the title,” Ngoza said.
Ngoza faced some real life challenges, which forced him to relocate to Cape Town where he is now trained by Welsh Macibela at the 9th South African Infantry (9SAI) Boxing Club in Khayelitsha.
“I had some challenges, which had a negative effect in my life. For instance, I was not fully prepared when I fought against Phaliso. However, I have overcome all the challenges now. I thank coach Macibela for helping me fight and overcome my challenges. He’s been very good to me,” Ngoza remarked.
The 24-year-old Ngoza is rated number two in the South African featherweight division while Sibisi is three places below him. Ngoza defeated Sibisi on points the first time they met at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall in March 2021.
