A proper hand over, which was never done when the term of the previous board of Boxing South Africa (BSA) ended in December last year, will finally be done soon.

And BSA board member Sakhiwe Sodo has revealed that they have invited Luthando Jack to a meeting. Sodo was a member of the previous BSA board, which was led by Jack as its chairperson.

“We are in contact with Luthando Jack. Before the end of the month, we are planning a session where we will engage, particularly on the hand over so that we are aware of how far has the board gone so that we can take the baton from where they have left it,” Sodo said.

The new board is faced with a mammoth task of ensuring that BSA doesn’t go penniless ever again. BSA had a zero bank balance when the term of the previous board ended in December last year.

The sad situation led to BSA staff salaries for January, February and March this year being paid by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
