Chippa United coach Kurt Lentjies is impressed with his team’s fighting spirit following their 2-2 draw with Baroka FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.
The Chilli Boys led 1-0 before allowing Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele to score two goals in less than 10 minutes. The Gqeberha-based side, who had gone four matches without conceding a goal before facing Bakgaga, only equalised in added time.
“Great fighting spirit from the guys. It was a good game. The belief was there. After 2-2 we could have made it 3-2,” Lentjies said.
The Chilli Boys have a date with struggling Swallows FC away at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto next Saturday. They will then wrap up the season with a home clash against TS Galaxy a week after meeting Swallows.
“We go to Swallows in Dobsonville, another big game. We have a week to prepare, not two, three days. The guys need to rebuild strength in their bodies,” Lentjies said.
