Thato ‘Captain Charisma’ Bonokoane from Kagiso, Krugersdorp, in the West Rand is set to travel to Tanzania for a fight against Tanzanian boxer Fadhili Majiha next month.
Bonokoane, a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) junior-featherweight champion, and Majiha are going to clash in a World Boxing Council (WBC) Africa title fight.
“Yes, we are going to fight in Tanzania in May. But we are still waiting for the fight contract,” Bonokoane’s trainer Charrit Mukondeleli said.
This is going to be Bonokoane’s first fight since he suffered a first round stoppage loss to Namibian boxer Fillipus Nghitumbwa in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa junior-featherweight title clash in Windhoek, Namibia, last December.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Majiha defeated South African junior-featherweight champion Bongani ‘Wonderboy’ Mahlangu in Dar-Es-Salaam in October last year.
