Unbeaten KwaZulu-Natal startlet Sabelo ‘Mkhonto’ Cebekhulu has a date with former world title contender Muhammad ‘Falcon’ Waseem from Pakistan next month.
Cebekhulu clashes with the 34-year-old Waseem in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) bantamweight title fight in Malta on Friday, 27 September.
The 23-year-old Cebekhulu, who boasts seven wins with three stoppages, will go to the fight against Waseem on the back of last July’s third round technical knockout win over Layten Gloss.
Meanwhile, between July 2018 and March 2022, Waseem challenged for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight twice and failed on both occasions.
Waseem from Quetta in Pakistan lost to South African Moruti Mthalane in 2018 and was defeated by Briton Sunny Edwards in 2022.
