While former world champion Zolani ‘Last Born’ Tete faces a four-year ban for doping, the man he stopped in his last fight Jason Cunningham is preparing to capture the same title he lost to the Mdantsane boxer in July.
Cunningham, who was stopped in the fourth round by Tete last July, will be back in the ring to fight against Chilean boxer Miguel Gonzalez next month.
The 33-year-old Cunningham will be fighting against Gonzalez for the same IBF International junior-featherweight title he lost in the fight against Tete. It was after the Cunningham fight that Tete’s boxing world got turned upside when he tested positive for stanozolol, a performance-enhancing drug.
Cunningham from Doncaster, Yorkshire, and Gonzalez will fight against each other at the Telford International Centre, Telford, in the United Kingdom on Saturday, 25 March
