South African Football Association (SAFA) has appointed former referee Victor Gomes as the new chairperson of the national referees committee.
Gomes, who officiated at the recent 2022 FIFA World Cup finals between November and December, retired as a referee after the mundial.
The 40-year-old Johannesburg-born Gomes gave up the whistle after winning some awards and officiated in the final of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
