It’s fight on as Vusumuzi Ngcamu has signed to challenge current South African junior-featherweight champion Siyabulela Hem next month.
The Gauteng champion will collide with Hem from Duncan Village, East London, on Sunday, 24 November. Hem will be making the first defence of the SA title he won after he dethroned Bongani ‘Wonderboy’ Mahlangu in Midrand last month.
“Contract signed for 24 November under Xaba Boxing Promotions. Vusi Ngcamu will be challenging for the SA junior-featherweight title,” Ngcamu’s trainer Alan Toweel wrote on his Facebook page.
Ngcamu, who’s rated number three in SA, will go to the Hem fight on the back of a win over Bekizizwe Maitse in a Gauteng junior-featherweight title fight at Box Camp Booysens in Johannesbug five months ago.
Having won four and drawn once in his last five fights, Ngcamu has a professional record of eight wins with five knockouts, four defeats and three draws.
