South African lightweight champion Tshifhiwa ‘Atomic Spider’ Munyai and Lusanda ‘Mexican’ Komanisi cannot wait to have a go at each other inside the ring and show who is the best between them.
The is so even though their fight is still a subject of negotiations between their respective camps. Munyai has made three successful defences of his crown against Khaya Busakwe, Sanele Msimang and Aphiwe Mboyiya. And he has made it clear that he won’t shy away from facing off with Komanisi.
The Makwarela-born Munyai, who is a former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-featherweight titlist, turns 37 next month.
“I’m the champion and I fear no one. Komanisi wants my title and I’m gonna give him a chance to fight me. He’s number one and it’s his turn to fight against me,” Munyai said.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Komanisi from Mdantsane has been itching to fight against Munyai since last year.
“This fight is long overdue. We both want to fight against each other and I’m always ready for him,” the former South African and IBO featherweight champion said.
Definitely the best fight in SA at this moment in time. Fireworks are on the table.
