Proteas coach Mark Boucher can heave a sigh of relief after the Cricket South Africa (CSA) board decided to withdraw charges levelled against him.
CSA announced on Tuesday that charges against the former Proteas wicketkeeper had been withdrawn.
“Cricket South Africa has concluded that there is no basis to sustain any of the disciplinary charges, including charges of racism against Mr Mark Boucher. The board of CSA has therefore formally and unreservedly withdrawn all the charges,” a CSA statement said.
The charges against Boucher came after the CSA board received a report from Social Justice and Nation-Building ombudsman Advocate Dumisa Ntsebeza in December last year.
The report made adverse ‘findings’ against Boucher and Ntsebeza recommended that a further formal process should be taken.
The case against Boucher crumbled after former Proteas assistant coach Enoch Nkwe and Paul Adams declined to testify against the East London-born coach.
