After his South African junior-welterweight title defence against Marcus Lebogo was cancelled twice, national champion Prince Dlomo has now decided to take a fight in Russia.
Pietermaritzburg-born Dlomo is going to face off against unbeaten Russian boxer Khariton Agrba at the DIVS in Ekaterinburg on Tuesday next week. He must take the monkey off his back as he is yet to win in Russia having lost three fights already with his defeat by Russian Yauheni Dauhaliavets at the Sibir Boxing Academy in Novosibirsk in November 2021 being his most recent loss there.
Dlomo has also lost fights against Russian Georgii Chelokhsaev in Kaliningrad and Iman Akhmadov from Azerbaijan in December 2019.
Argba will go to the Dlomo fight having stopped former World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-welterweight champion Julius Indongo from Namibia last November.
The 27-year-old Agrba, who was born in Agra, Georgia, is now based in Volgodonsk, Russia, and is a Russian citizen. Agrba has won all his 10 with six of those ending early.
