Ayanda Ndulani and his trainer Kholisile ‘KC’ Cengani spent more than 24 hours before they finally arrived in Cancun, Mexico, where the boxer has a date with Mexican Luis ‘Fletchita’ Castillo on Friday (Saturday morning, South African time).
Ndulani and Castillo clash in a World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight elimination bout at the Flamingo Cancun Resort. The winner of this fight is going to challenge for the WBC minimumweight title, which is held by Thailand’s Panya Pradabsri also known as Petchmanee CP Freshmart.
“Finally, we have arrived after a long trip. We arrived after 1am and it’s hot here. We took 11 hours from OR Tambo to Amsterdam and then spent three hours waiting for a connecting flight. It also took us 11 hours before we reached Mexico City. And we then got delayed for more than two hours before proceeding to Cancun from Mexico City,” Cengani said from Mexico.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Ndulani from Scenery Park in East London is rated number one by the WBC while his adversary is one place behind him in the ratings.
