Russian boxer Vadim Tukov maintained his unbeaten record after he stopped John ‘Section 29’ Bopape in the fourth round at the Traktor Sport Palace in Chelyabinsk, Russia, on Friday.
The 29-year-old Tukov floored Bopape twice in the second round before he stopped the reigning South African middleweight champion 48 seconds into the fourth round.
That was the first stoppage loss the Alexandra, Johannesburg, boxer suffered since he was stopped by Simon Dladla in July 2019. Interestingly, both previous and Friday’s stoppages were in eight rounds bouts.
Tukov, who is a resident of Rostov-na-Donu, improved his record to 12 victories with five knockouts while Bopape dropped to 14 wins and nine losses.
