Boxing South Africa (BSA) is mourning following the senseless killing of Kenneth Mamosadi, its chief financial officer.
Mamosadi, who joined BSA as finance manager in 2015 and got elevated to CFO in March last year, was gunned down by two assailants near his Pretoria West home on Friday evening.
“It is with profound sadness that Boxing South Africa announces the tragic passing of our chief financial officer, Kenneth Mamosadi, on Friday, February 23, 2024. Kenneth was ruthlessly gunned down by assailants in his own driveway in Pretoria West. Tragically, his life was taken and his only belonging stolen was his cellphone,” a BSA statement said on Monday.
“This cowardly act has robbed us of a valued member of our community and a dear friend. Kenneth was a pillar of strength, renowned for his gentle demeanour and his unwavering dedication to the sport of boxing. His senseless and brutal murder has left us all shocked and grieving.”
The statement added: “We urge law enforcement agencies to swiftly bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice. The family implores the South African Police Service and government to leave no stone unturned in their investigation to uncover the motives behind this senseless act of violence.
“Boxing South Africa extends its deepest condolences to the Mamosadi family, friends, colleagues and all who were touched by Kenneth’s kindness and generosity. We stand together in solidarity during this difficult time.”
The BSA further added that details of Mamosadi’s memorial service and funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
