Ntethelelo Nkosi is not bothered by Sanele Msimang’s suggestions that the South African junior-welterweight title is going to change hands after they had met in a fight, which pits KwaZulu-Natal boxers against each other on Saturday.
Nkosi is pencilled to put his SA title on the line when he squares up against Msimang in his first defence of his crown at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park next Saturday.
The 27-year-old Nkosi has not defended the title since winning it by a ninth round stoppage of Prince Dlomo in Durban in November last year.
“He’s joking if he thinks he’s gonna beat me. I’m the champion and will continue being one even after I have met him. He’s not going to get my title,” Nkosi remarked.
With a record of six wins with three knockouts and two losses, Nkosi from Mtubatuba added: “I even doubt that he will make it beyond round six. We are talking about boxing here, we are not playing games.
“If he believes he will win, then I want him to say that right in front of me on Friday. Maybe he’s talking too much because I’m far from him.” – Monwabisi Jimlongo
