Lusanda ‘Mexican’ Komanisi is not concerned about boxing fans, who believe that Cape Town boxer Sinethemba Bam has what it takes to beat him when they clash in a 10 rounds bout at the Nutting Hall in Stirling, East London, on Saturday.
Instead, Komanisi said that people are entitled to their own opinions and those who wish for him to lose to Bam are going to be shocked.
“We have worked very hard preparing for this fight against Bam,” the former South African and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight champion said.
“I don’t blame those who believe that Bam is going to beat me. I’ve got 30 fights and people always say they will beat me and then fail to do so inside the ring.”
Mdantsane-born Komanisi revealed that he was given a choice of 10 opponents and he chose to fight against Bam.
“Bam didn’t pick me as an opponent. I chose him as my opponent because I know he’s gonna be easy for me,” Komanisi said.
Komanisi, who is trained by one of South Africa’s finest trainers Vusi Mtolo in Johannesburg, goes to the Bam fight on the back of a stoppage win over Siphenathi Qampi in East London last December.
This fight between Komanisi and Bam is going to be promoted by Happy Tewo’s Tewo Promotions.
