AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu has conveyed his condolences to the
family of departed Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender
Motjeka Madisha.
The 25-year-old Madisha passed away following a car crash in Kempton
Park, Ekurhuleni, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Zebediela-born
Madisha’s car caught fire after crashing to a pole in wet conditions.
‘‘We as AmaZulu convey our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to
the Madisha family for the loss of a promising young life. The same
condolences go to Patrice Motsepe, the president of Mamelodi Sundowns,
who has invested so much in making his players some of the most
admired in the country, probably the entire continent,’’ Zungu said.
‘‘The loss they are feeling is our loss. Most certainly it is our loss
as Usuthu, I ‘m sure it’s the loss of the entire soccer fraternity in
South Africa. We wish the family of Madisha well in these difficult
times.’’
Madisha’s death follows less than a month after another former
Sundowns defender Anele Ngcongca, who was buried in Cape Town on
Thursday, passed away in a car crash in November near Mthunzini in
KwaZulu/Natal.
