Chippa United midfielder Kurt Lentjies is expecting a tough match when the Chilli Boys come up against Orlando Pirates in a DStv Premiership fixture at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday (17h00).
The two sides go into this match on the back of contrasting fortunes with the Chilli Boys having drawn their last two games while the Buccaneers picked up four points in their last two outings.
The Chilli Boys were held to a goalless draw by Cape Town City at Mdantsane’s Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London on Wednesday while Pirates beat Bloemfontein Celtic 1-0 at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday.
“Obviously, a tough one. I think we’ve got depth and quality in the team. We are looking forward to Saturday’s match against Pirates. We played against Cape Town City back-to-back, tough fixtures,” Lentjies said.
The 36-year-old former Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United midfielder has revealed that he would have loved to play more games for the Chilli Boys this season. Lentjies didn’t get game time when Lehlohonolo Seema, who is now with Black Leopards, was coaching the Chilli Boys. He only got to play when Dan Malesela returned to coach the Eastern Cape side.
“Every game is like a cup final to us. Every fixture we play we need to pick up some points or a point,” Mitchell’s Plain-born Lentjies said.
After facing Pirates, the Chilli Boys are going to play against AmaZulu in Mdantsane on Wednesday (17h00).
