World champion Moruti ‘Babyface’ Mthalane’s trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan has revealed that they are settling well in Tunisia.
Nathan is finalising Mthalane’s preparations in the North African country ahead of the Lindelani-born boxer’s International Boxing Federation (IBF) flyweight title defence against Sunny Edwards in the United Kingdom (UK) on Friday, 30 April.
Mthalane’s fourth defence of his belt against Edwards from the UK is going to be held at York Hall, Bethnal Green, in London.
“We are still here in Tunis, Tunisia. We will leave for the UK on the 27th. Things are going well, we are settling in nicely. We are acclimatising and will also have a hard week of training,” Nathan said on Monday.
The award-winning trainer from Hot Box Gym in Johannesburg also revealed that they opted for a training camp in Tunisia because the North African country is not considered a COViD-19 risk zone by British authorities.
“We decided to settle here because Tunisia is a green zone country to fly to the UK,” Nathan said.
