It looks like United States-based South African boxer DeeJay Kriel can’t wait to see Sivenathi ‘Special One’ Nontshinga becoming a world champion.
Nontshinga earned the right to challenge current International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-flyweight champion Felix Alvarado from Nicaragua after he outpointed Filipino boxer Christian ‘The Bomb’ Araneta in April.
The elimination bout was held at the Boardwalk Hotel and Casino in Gqeberha.
“I’m looking forward to seeing you becoming a world champion, man. I know you have just won an eliminator. Good luck for your future fight,” Kriel said.
The former IBF minimumweight champion knows Alvarado after losing to him with a 10th round stoppage earlier this year.
“If he’s gonna fight Alvarado, then stay away, box and move. Alvarado is very strong. He is unbelievable strong for the weight,” the 25-year-old Kriel advised.
“I want every South African to win and I hope you win and you can. I know you are good, keep moving.”
