Cindy Nkomo will continue as acting Boxing South Africa (BSA) chief executive officer as long as Moffat Qithi’s case against BSA is still ongoing.
BSA board chairperson Luthando Jack said this while responding to a question from Ink Sport on Thursday.
“We haven’t started with a process to get a permanent CEO because we are still dealing with a court case regarding the position,” Jack said.
Jack was referring to the Labour Court case involving BSA and fired CEO Moffat Qithi.
The latter took BSA to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and won his case after he was fired in 2015.
The CCMA ordered BSA to pay Qithi R4 million. However, BSA is appealing ruling at the Labour Court.
Meanwhile, Nkomo has been acting BSA CEO since Tsholofelo Lejaka’s departure last August.
