Lamontville Golden Arrows have advanced to the semi-finals of the MTN8 after they beat SuperSport United 4-3 on penalties at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu on Saturday.
The two sides drew 2-2 in two hours of football something which forced the match to be decided on penalties.
Nkosinathi Sibisi, Siphamandla Sabelo, Pule Mmodi and Michael Gumede converted Arrows’ spot kicks while Siboniso Conco’s penalty was saved by Matsatsantsa a Pitori goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams.
Sipho Mbule, Gamphani Lungu and Thamsanqa Gabuza converted for Matsatsantsa with Teboho Mokoena and Iqraam Rayners missing.
Knox Mutizwa and Gumede scored for Arrows in 120 minutes while Lungu and Rayners netted for Matsatsantsa.
