It looks like Komani-born boxers Sabelo Ngebiyana and Sihle Jelwana are not off the hook yet.
This follows after the two boxers ‘sneaked’ out of South Africa to go fight in Russia without being cleared by BSA early last month.
Ngebiyana lost to Armenian boxer Narek Abgaryan while Jelwana drew with Rufat Huseynov from Azerbaijan at the RCC Boxing Academy in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
Acting BSA chief executive officer Cindy Nkomo revealed on Friday that they have not received a response from RCC Boxing Promotions after they sought more information regarding Ngebiyana and Jelwana’s participation in German Titov’s tournament.
“We still have not received a response even though we made a follow up to the first correspondence we sent to them,” Nkomo revealed.
The BSA boss reiterated that her organisation is still looking at the the two boxers’ case.
“Issues of compliance are matters we still need to attend to,” Nkomo said.
