Fadlu Davids is disappointed after Orlando Pirates drew goalless with a 10-man Maritzburg United in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Pirates co-coach believes that they could have done better considering the number of chances they created during the match.
“It’s quite disappointing in the first half not to take advantage of the opportunities you create. On the other hand, you have to give credit to the opponents for their defensive display,” Davids remarked.
The Team of Choice didn’t offer much when it came to shots on targets. There were moments when Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane was more like a spectator than a participant as Team of Choice players didn’t trouble him.
“Yes, they never had a shot on target to really disturb our goalkeeper,” Davids said about his former team.
Meanwhile, Team of Choice coach Ernst Middendorp said that picking up a point against teams like Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns is very important.
“It was physical. In the moment for me, we have played seven games, don’t let the number of picked up points be very low,” the German said.
