Charrit Mukondeleli does not look down on Tholumusa Ngema who fights against his boxer Thato Bonokoane in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental junior-featherweight title fight on Sunday afternoon.
However, Mukondeleli is sure that Bonokoane will have the WBF belt strapped around his waist at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall.
“We are here to win. Don’t get me wrong, we don’t underestimate Ngema,” Mukondeleli said on Sunday.
Ngema made the weight on his second visit to the scales something which Mukondeleli believes might work in Bonokoane’s favour.
“We made the weight easily. Ngema had to go run after initially failing to make the weight,” Mukondeleli said.
Bonokoane, who lost to Tajikistan boxer Asror Vokhidov in Russia in January this year, will be out to improve his record, which stands at 10 victories, four losses and three draws while Ngema has won five, lost one and drawn three times. Ngema defeated Sanele Maduna on points in March this year.
