Mamelodi Sundowns remain unbeaten following their 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch FC at a wind-swept Danie Craven Stadium in the Cape Winelands on Saturday evening.
Junior Mendieta gave Stellies the lead when he converted a penalty in the 43rd minute. Match referee Philangenkosi Khumalo awarded Stellies a penalty after Khuliso Mudau had fouled Ashley du Preez inside the box.
Assisted by the win in the second half, the Brazilians equalised through Lyle Lakay in the 59th minute. This is the first time Stellies drew with Sundowns after losing eight previous matches to the Tshwane giants.
