Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis has stretched his winning run to 26 fights after he defeated Mexican Isaac Cruz at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, United States on Monday morning (South African time).
In the process, the American retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) ‘regular’ lightweight belt. All three judges gave Davis the nod with score cards reading 116-112 and 115-113 twice.
Davis have now registered 26 wins with 24 knockouts while Cruz dropped to 22 wins with 15 stoppages, two losses and a draw.
Cruz gave everything during the fight, but whatever he dished out was not good enough to get him a decision.
