Kurt Lentjies believes that his team Chippa United gave their all during their 1-1 draw with AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday.

Eva Nga Bienvenu equalised for the Chilli Boys in the 27th minute after Lehlohonolo Majoro had given Usuthu the lead four minutes earlier.

“I think we had a good game. It was a bit of a cagey affair, both teams trying to see each other out in the first couple of minutes,” the Chilli Boys caretaker coach said.

Cape Town-born Lentjies commended his boys for a quick reply after Usuthu had taken the lead.

“We conceded a goal. Big ups to the boys, they acted well, came back into the game and equalised before half-time. And then it was, honestly, a 50-50 game,” Lentjies said.

The Chilli Boys and Usuthu meet again in a second round encounter in Durban on Tuesday.

“Playing them in a couple of days would be like a Champions League second leg. We will see what happens in the first couple of minutes of the game,” he said.
