Hard-hitting Japanese boxer Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue stopped Thai boxer Aran Dipaen at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday.
A vicious left body shot sent Dipaen to the canvas signalling the end of the fight in the eighth round. As a result, Inoue successfully defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight titles.
The 28-year-old Japanese has now won all his 22 fights with 19 of those being stoppages. This was the first time Inoue fought in his native Japan in two years.
