Marumo Gallants coach Daniel Malesela believes that they conspired against themselves during their 2-1 loss to Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Monday evening.
Gallants gave away a 1-0 lead after Siphelele Ntshangase had scored for them only to allow Pirates to come back through Kwame Peprah’s brace. This was Gallants’ second successive loss after a 1-0 home defeat to AmaZulu last Friday.
“Look, again it’s just self-inflicted. You know how they scored is when we made mistakes from the same player,” Malesela said.
“It’s very unfortunate, these are the things that we coach. Pass the ball, avoid running with the ball when you have people available. This could have been avoided.”
Meanwhile, the Limpopo club face log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns away on Thursday.
The Brazilians lost their first match of the season when they went 1-0 down to AmaZulu on Monday evening.
