The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon beat a 10-man Comoros 2-1 in an Africa Cup of Nations last-16 match at the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde, Cameroon, on Monday evening.
Karl Toko Ekambi netted for the Indomitable Lions in the 29th minute off a pass from Vincent Aboubakar. Tournament top scorer Aboubakar made it 2-0 in the 70th minute as he scored his sixth goal in four matches.
The Coelacanhts scored through En Avant Guigamp midfielder Youssouf M’Changama in the 81st minute. Comoros finished the match with 10 men after their captain Nadjim Abdou was red carded following a bad tackle on Moumi Ngamaleu in the seventh minute.
Meanwhile, the Indomitable Lions will now face Gambia in the quarter-finals. Gambia reached the last eight following a 1-0 win over Guinea earlier on Monday.
