Serbian-born Kaizer Chiefs forward Samir Nurkovic is happy to be back after spending months on the sidelines watching his teammates sweating it out while looking for results.
The Serbian is back training with his teammates ahead of Saturday’s Nedbank Cup last-32 encounter against TS Galaxy at the FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
“Really happy to be back finally with the boys on the field. It was painful to watch from the sidelines and on TV. We are working hard preparing for our next match Nedbank Cup. I think we are ready,” Nurkovic said.
The 29-year-old striker, who was a hit in his first season at Chiefs, is hoping to return to his best and help Amakhosi end their trophy drought.
“Still working hard to get in the best possible shape. Where I used to be, I will be there soon,” Nurkovic said.
Nurkovic missed a number of Amakhosi matches after he underwent surgery to repair a cartilage damage on his right knee in September last year.
