It looked like the match would go to extra time until Iqraam Rayners popped up and scored SuperSport United’s goal during their 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in a Nedbank Cup last-32 match at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday evening.
A counter attack, which was started by Kudakwashe Mahachi following forays by the Team of Choice into the Matsatsantsa a Pitori goal ended with the ball reaching Rayners who netted for Matsatsantsa in the 89th minute.
As a result of the win, Matsatsantsa have joined University of Pretoria, Mamelodi Sundowns, Swallows FC, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, Orlando Pirates and Venda Football Academy, who beat African All Stars 3-1 in an earlier match in Wednesday, in the last-16 of the Nedbank Cup.
