Two bruised sides – Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs – will seek redemption as they clash in a DStv Premiership match at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday (19h30).

The Citizens were bundled out of the Nedbank Cup when they lost 2-1 to Royal AM while the same fate befell Chiefs when they were beaten 1-0 by TS Galaxy on Saturday.

Though he’s still disappointed after losing to the Rockets, Amakhosi attacking midfielder Keagan Dolly hopes they will regroup and return home with a win on Tuesday.

“Obviously, we are very disappointed, not only that we lost, because of the way we played. I don’t think we were ourselves on the day. Our movements off the ball, our pressing shape, it wasn’t us. It’s good that we have a game on Tuesday so that we can rectify our mistakes. It’s a good chance for us to come back and win on the day,” Dolly said.

Dolly has insisted that they are going to fight in DStv Premiership matches even though they are 19 points behind log-leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have 47 points.

“Each an every season we wanna compete for trophies. We wanna win trophies for ourselves, for the club, for the supporters. We shift our focus to the league to reach the highest we can. I came to Chiefs to win trophies. I think we have the capacity, we have the players, we have the quality,” the former Sundowns star said.

Currently, Amakhosi are fourth on the Premiership standings with 28 points after winning eight times, drawing four matches and losing four games. A win will take Chiefs to second place on the standings.
