World football governing body FIFA has banned Kenya and Zimbabwe due to government interference.
The ban on Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) was announced on Thursday evening.
Both have been banned from all football related activities with immediate effect. FIFA takes a dim view on government’s interference on football matters.
“Without prejudice to investigations by national authorities or other judiciary bodies, the FIFA Council has decided to suspend Kenya Football Federation and Zimbabwe Football Federation with immediate effect for undue influence by a third party,” a FIFA statement said.
