Mthatha boxer Bangile Nyangani is so serious about winning next Thursday’s fight against Loyiso Ngantweni at the EFC Centre in Johannesburg that he has used at least three former world champions as his sparring partners.
Nyangani has sparred with Hekkie ‘Hexecutioner’ Budler, Simphiwe ‘Chain Reaction’ Konkco and DeeJay Kriel while preparing for his first defence of the title he won when he dethroned Siyakholwa Kuse in East London in July last year.
And the current South African minimumweight champion has insisted that he’s going to send the 41-year-old Ngantweni to retirement.
“He is confident about winning this fight. What I know is that he’s coming here just to fulfil his dream of fighting for the title, not to win it. I respect him as an older brother. However, he has to lose and I’m gonna send him straight to retirement,” the 27-year-old Nyangani said.
Ngantweni from Mqanduli is the most experienced between the two adversaries having been a professional boxer since 2003 while Nyangani fought for the first time in the paid ranks in 2016.
Meanwhile, Conwin Ray is going to defend his SA title against Andile Mntungwa with Mzuvukile Magwaza facing Sanele Maduna in the same bill.
