After stopping Sanele Maduna in the second round in his comeback fight in Johannesburg on Thursday last week, Mzuvukile ‘Old Bones’ Magwaza is now set to lace his gloves again in July.
Magwaza went into the Maduna clash having last fought in December 2017. His career had stalled following a shooting by thugs at his Khayelitsha, Cape Town, home in January 2018.
Training under Michael Mouneime in Cape Town, the father of two made a statement during the Maduna fight.
“I have been told that I will fight again in July. But I don’t know who my opponent will be,” the Duncan Village-born Magwaza said.
Magwaza is a former IBF International bantamweight, World Boxing Federation (WBF) bantamweight, World Boxing Association (WBA) International bantamweight, International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Intercontinental flyweight and WBF Africa junior-flyweight champion.
The 31-year-old Magwaza, who now campaigns in the junior-featherweight division, has 21 wins with 12 knockouts and three draws.
