Prince Dlomo is quite confident and plans to turn Xolani ‘Tiger’ Mcotheli into a pussy cat as the date for their rematch is drawing closer.
The South African junior-welterweight champion meets Mcotheli just over a year after he dethroned him. The two boxers clash at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday.
“I have heard that Mcotheli is saying that he’s coming to Johannesburg to reclaim his title. This title belongs to me and does not belong to him anymore. Yes, it was his title before I took it from him last year,” Dlomo said.
The 32-year-old Dlomo is bracing himself for a tough fight as he wants to retain the title while Mcotheli will be out to avenge last year’s loss.
“We are going to fight for this title. If Mcotheli is determined to fight, then I’m also determined to fight. I know that Mcotheli doesn’t want to be beaten twice by the same man and I also want to prove that I can beat him again. I have worked very hard for this fight and I’m going to win on Sunday,” Dlomo said.
Already, Dlomo has defended his national title once – beating Sisonke Makeleni from Mthatha on points in Booysens in September last year.
