National champion Sibusiso Zingange is preparing to dish out yet another impressive performance when he fights against Lunga Sitemela.
South African junior-lightweight titlist Zingange is scheduled to fight against Cape Town-based Sitemela in Johannesburg on Thursday, 26 May.
“We are on track with our preparations and we believe that we are going to successfully defend our title,” the 29-year-old Zingange remarked.
Zingange from Boksburg in Ekurhuleni is going to make the first defence of the title he wrestled from Phila Mpontshane in February. And he said that he fully understands that Dordrecht-born Sitemela will be coming for him.
Sitemela has not fought since he lost to Tajikistan boxer Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov in a World Boxing Council (WBC) International junior-lightweight title fight in Russia in March last year.
“Every challenger fancies his chances in a fight against a champion, so is Sitemela. I have watched two of his fights, a win over (David) Rajuili and his loss in Russia. Hopefully, the Russia fight gave him some experience so that he can be ready to push me,” Zingange said
