South African champion Prince Dlomo’s winning streak against Eastern Cape boxers continued as he beat Xolani ‘Tiger’ Mcotheli for the second time in 14 months.

Dlomo, who dethroned Mcotheli in March last year, successfully defended his South African junior-welterweight title at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Other Eastern Cape boxers who were victimised by Dlomo are Xolisani Ndongeni in October 2020 and Siseko Makeleni during the champion’s first title defence in September last year.

Meanwhile, former SA junior-bantamweight titlist Siphosethu Mvula made a long-awaited comeback with a win over Prince Ndlovu. This was Duncan Village-born Mvula’s first fight since losing to current national lightweight champion Tshifhiwa Munyai in March 2020.
