A new date has been set for Mdantsane boxer and former world champion Zolani ‘Last Born’ Tete’s fight against Briton Jason Cunningham.
Tete faces Cunningham in an IBF International and Commonwealth junior-featherweight bout in the United Kingdom on Saturday, 2 July. The fight is organised by Tete’s British promoter Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions.
“I can confirm that we are going to fight against Cunningham on the second of July,” Tete’s manager Mlandeli Tengimfene confirmed.
This going to be the former IBF junior-bantamweight and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight titlist’s first fight in the UK since he lost to Filipino boxer Johnriel Casimero in a WBO title contest in November 2019.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Cunningham from Yorkshire stopped Frenchman Terry Le Couviour in the sixth round at the Telford International Centre, Telford, in the UK last month.
