Having defeated Ellen Simwaka before, Sharadene Fortuin is confident that she will do it again against the Malawian when they meet at The Galleria in Johannesburg on Thursday next week.

Fortuin and Simwaka clash in a vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Africa female bantamweight title contest.

“She’s going to get more punishment than she got in our first fight. I’m going to do it again. It will be worse for her this time around,” Fortuin said from Cape Town.

Seymour-born Fortuin, who is the current South African female bantamweight champion, defeated Simwaka on points the last time they clashed in Mdantsane in December 2017.

Meanwhile, Fortuin together with her stablemate Lunga Sitemela leave for Johannesburg on Sunday together with their trainer Emil Brice and physical conditioner Allan Dillon.

Dordrecht-born Sitemela is scheduled to challenge reigning SA junior-lightweight titlist Sibusiso Zingange in the main bout of the tournament.
