Soon after arriving in Johannesburg from Cape Town on Sunday, South African title contender Lunga Sitemela declared his readiness for his fight against Sibusiso Zingange.
The 31-year-old Sitemela, who is based in the Mother City, challenges SA junior-lightweight champion Zingange at The Galleria in Johannesburg on Thursday evening.
“I’m excited that I’m finally here in Johannesburg. My presence here means that the fight is on,” Sitemela, who was born in Dordrecht in the Eastern Cape, remarked.
“I have been waiting for this opportunity for some time. I’m fit and ready to face Zingange. I’m going to do everything in my power to win this fight. We really need this title.”
Meanwhile, this is going to be Zingange’s first defence of the national title since winning it when he defeated former champion Phila Mpontshane three months ago.
