Fans of East London boxer and former world title contender Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile will have to wait a little longer before they can see him in action again.
This is so because the Saturday, 18 June tournament organised by Rumble Africa Promotions (RAP) where Fuzile was scheduled to make a return has been postponed to Sunday, 3 July.
The 25-year-old Fuzile was due to fight for the first time since his defeat by Japanese boxer Kenichi Ogawa in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior-lightweight title contest at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, United States, in November last year.
The postponement of the June tournament was confirmed by RAP director of operations Aseza Somagaca.
“Yes, the tournament has been postponed because of a number of reasons. The change of opponents also necessitated a date change,” Somagaca told Ink Sport.
Fuzile, a former South African featherweight champion, was set to make his debut in the lightweight division after announcing in January that he was moving up from junior-lightweight.
