Moving up the ratings in world boxing bodies will be the drive force for Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha when he faces Filipino boxer Esneth ‘Hard Hitter’ Domingo.

The former South African junior-flyweight titlist clashes with Domingo in a 10 rounds international bout at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) on Saturday evening.

Tyirha, who has notched six wins with two knockouts and a loss, will be looking at making it three out of three against Filipino opponents having already beaten two Pinoy pugilists Joey Canoy and Jaysever Abcede.

A talented boxer whose only blemish to his record is a loss to former world champion Nkosinathi ‘Mabhere’ Joyi, Tyirha is rated seventh by both the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) while the International Boxing Federation (IBF) rates him in 15th position.

Meanwhile, this is going to be Domingo’s second fight outside his native Philippines. His first foray abroad was a win over Vietnamese boxer Minh Phat Sam at the Hoi Chi Minh City in Vietnam in November 2019.

The 23-year-old, who has gone five wins since losing to compatriot Alphoe Dagayloan in April 2019, has an impressive record of 16 victories, eight stoppages and a loss.
