Moroccan side Wydad Club Athletic won the CAF Champions League trophy for the third time after they beat Al Ahly from Egypt 2-0 in the final at the Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco, on Monday evening.
After a number of attempts, Wydad got the lead through Zouhair El Moutaraji’s long range shot in the 15th minute.
Three minutes into the second half El Moutaraji sent the stadium into a frenzy when he completed his brace.
This was the second time that Wydad defeated the Red Devils in the Champions League final. They beat them 2-1 in 2017 having won their first Champions League trophy in 1992.
