Boxing South Africa (BSA) provincial manager in Gauteng Hloks Ramagole has submitted a report to the BSA national office following yesterday’s tournament at the Booysens Boxing Gym in Johannesburg where trainer Michael Sediane disgraced himself when he attacked his boxer’s opponent.

Sediane, who trains Sithembiso Maduna, landed a combination of blows on Maduna’s opponent Jeff Magagane after the final bell had rung.

Sediane’s action shocked many boxing followers at the venue and those who followed the tournament action live on television.

“We have received the report of the tournament. We are still looking at it. We might release a statement,” BSA director of operations Mandla Ntlanganiso said.

This is the second time Sediane disgraced himself as he almost did the same thing to South African featherweight champion Asanda Gingqi in March. He climbed over the ropes and ran straight to Gingqi, but somehow restrained himself.

Meanwhile, the promoter of the tournament Bongani Dlamini of  Bonglez Boxing Promotion has revealed that Sediane has apologised to him and Magagane.

“We got an apology from Michael and we have accepted it. We don’t want to see the kind of behaviour in the sport of boxing,” Dlamini said.
