Cape Town City defender Terrence Mashego has been withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad preparing for Thursday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The 23-year-old former TS Galaxy defender has been withdrawn from the team after he picked up a meniscus tear on his knee.
“It’s a bad situation. But I think it’s not a bad injury, it’s just as meniscus tear. I was looking forward to the game. I just have to focus on my injury and make sure I come back,” Mashego said.
Meanwhile, Bafana Bafana leave for Morocco via Doha, Qatar, at 20h50 on Saturday and will arrive in Casablanca at 13h20 on Sunday. They will then take a short bus trip to Rabat.
