Fearsome Japanese boxer Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue proved too powerful for Nonito Donaire Junior from the Philippines as he stopped him in the second round at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Inoue bullied Nonito and decked him before the end of the first round. Sensing that he could finish the fight early in the second round, lnoue went for the kill and dropped the 39-year-old Nonito. The second knock down forced fight referee Michael Griffin to wave the bout off.
Inoue has added the World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight belt to his World Boxing Association (WBA) ‘Super’ and International Boxing Federation (IBF) titles.
The Japanese has now taken his record to 23 victories with 20 knockouts while Nonito dropped to 42 wins (28 stoppages) and seven defeats.
